Below my presentation in English updated to April 18, 2026 (automatic translation, do not hesitate to correct) ------------------------------------------------------------- Ci-dessous ma présentation actualisée le 23 Mai 2026 : Bonjour, Avant toute chose, nous souhaitons privilégier la rencontre avec une seule personne. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anglophones welcome. I’m learning English to understand the psychology of Donald Trump’s voters. Unfortunately, don’t be ashamed, I’m afraid we have the same ones here. Hello, First of all, we do not have a place of independent accommodation and wish to privilege the meeting with only one person. If you are traveling as a couple or with a friend, I encourage you to look for hosts with different expectations. BRIEF PRESENTATION: I am a ceramist, but also a bit of a painter (a long time ago), photographer (from the plastic tarp of my greenhouses), lover of poetry, etc. (see jeancouturier.net). For about thirty years, it is my garden that helps me recharge. It is adjacent to our land, in the abandoned nursery surrounding us. I live with my wife Chantal, whose hospitality, excellent cuisine and (great) ability to support me are equally appreciated by our visitors. EXPECTED WORK: Monitor myself and help me cope with the explosion of my vegetable biodiversity. I have fallen behind, I am aging and I no longer have the courage to work alone. If it suits you, we can work in the morning from dawn (9am) until 1pm. 4h so that can vary in case of bad weather or the day after a party. But be careful, I am not a professional market gardener and apart from my little experience as a dreamy gardener, I won’t be able to do much for your hyper-specialized project in agroecological technology or your desire for survivalist autonomy. ACCOMMODATION: It’s family life. Shared meals, room in the house or independent on the mezzanine of my exhibition hall. Shower and toilets in the house, dry toilet next to the pullets. FREE TIME: You do what you want. If you are motivated, I suggest you learn pottery turning. SURROUNDINGS: Walks in the area are possible with meetings of my friends and environmentalists from the sector. It’s not Ariège, but there are still a few of them. The Loire is also not bad at 10km, the lights of the city of Orléans at 25km TECHNIQUE: I started the first years with a tiller that I quickly abandoned to build crop mounds. Indeed, our clay terrain at the edge of Sologne slightly "hydromorphic" (which retains water in winter) did not leave much thickness for the "aerobic" bacteria (the good ones who need oxygen). In 2010, I recovered a first greenhouse (45m2), built a small one the following year (12m2) before finding a third of 60m2 in 2016 or 17. At the beginning of 2020 (in full containment), I installed a low-voltage submerged pump that rises from a 45m borehole, thanks to a solar panel of barely 1 square meter, between 2 and 3 m3 of water per day. Without her, I would certainly have changed my sport. Look forward to meeting you ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My stay with Jean, Chantal and Anselme were some of the happiest times of my whole life. They were so incredibly kind to me and made me feel a part of the family. Chantal's cooking is unbelievable and we enjoyed meals with their many friends daily. I loved spending mornings in the garden with Jean where we chopped wood, pulled up potatoes, clipped the tomatoes and weeded. He showed me inside the beehives and also took the time to teach me to use the wheel to make ceramics. Anselme was kind enough to take me to his Capoeira classes and I was able to watch him in his dance performance before I left. I feel truly so lucky to have experienced the paradise of this place. From the bottom of my heart thank you so much for everything - I did not want to leave xx

I only spent 4 days at Jean, Chantal and Anselme’s home, but I could not have enjoyed my stay more. Their home and garden is beautiful and quiet, even in the winter. Jean is a true artist and a very good teacher, he taught me a few pottery techniques and we talked about his work and approach to art. Chantal is an amazing cook and makes you feel at home instantly. Even though there was a language barrier, both made a huge effort to communicate with me and we were able to share stories and jokes. They have cultivated a beautiful community and we were often joined by friends and neighbors for meals. The work load was very light, and Jean took time to show me things I was interested in like beekeeping. They are a family full of amazing humans, and I’m so lucky I got to meet them! Plus two sweet kitties.
