Depuis 1784, huit générations se succédèrent au Domaine de la Higuère pour cultiver notre patrimoine familial dans le respect de la nature. Précurseur dans la politique d'une agriculture durable la famille Esquiro travaillait ses terres en protection raisonnée. Depuis peu notre petite exploitation vient passer le pas et de se convertir à deux tiers à l'Agriculture Biologique . Au programme, de nombreux apprentissages et activités avec David : Viticulture, Œnologie, Mise en bouteille de nos vins, Préparation de commande, Photovoltaïque, Rénovation du Domaine (Chambres, caveau de dégustation) constructions diverses en bois, débroussaillage, aménagements divers, bois de chauffage. Avec mon épouse Karine, Préparation des repas du midi avec nos produits locaux, vente de vins et Œnotourisme à la ferme. Maître de stage Erasmus, j'ai l'habitude de recevoir des étudiants du monde entier toute l'année pour leur faire découvrir les joies de la vie en campagne et pourquoi pas aujourd'hui des wwoofeurs souhaitant vivre une immersion dans notre univers. Forerunner in the politics of sustainable agriculture, the Esquiro family worked their lands in rational protection. Recently our small farm has just taken the step and convert to Organic Farming . In the program, many learnings and activities with David: Work in the vineyard, Oenology, Bottling of our wines,Order preparation, Photovoltaic, Renovation of the Domain (Rooms, tasting cellar) various constructions in wood, clearing, various arrangements, wood of heating. With my wife Karine, Preparation of lunches with our local products, wine sales and wine tourism on the farm,learning french. Internship Erasmus, I usually receive students from all over the world all year round to make them discover the joys of life in the countryside and why not today wwoofers wishing to live an immersion in our universe

Fantastic vineyard in the heart of Gascogne. David and Karin are extremely generous hosts that make sure that your every need is taken care of. Karins cooking that is « faire avec amour » is easily en par with the best restaurants in France, I will especially remember her Chicken Wraps with homemade guacamole. The weekends, which are completely work free, are spent swimming in the pool, having parties and attending events in the area. The work (around 7 h / day) is not hard and very interesting, there are plenty of different tasks including: working in the fields, bottling wine, cleaning etc. All in all, I couldn’t recommend staying with David and Karin enough - you will not regret it!

Xander är en ung man med en enastående vänlighet. Han var den första svensken som besökte oss på gården. Lugn, omtänksam och alltid redo att hjälpa till – han fann sig snabbt till rätta på vår vingård och gjorde ett bestående intryck under de fyra veckor han tillbringade hos oss. Alla uppskattade honom för hans ärlighet och engagemang. Det var ett sant nöje att tillbringa dessa veckor med honom, och vi hoppas att vi snart får träffa honom igen. Stora kramar, min käre Xander, och vi hoppas alla att du kommer att vara en opartisk domare. Xander est un jeune homme d’une gentillesse extraordinaire. Il a été le premier Suédois à nous rendre visite au domaine. Calme, attentionné et toujours prêt à rendre service, il s’est bien intégré à notre vignoble et a laissé une empreinte marquante au cours des quatre semaines qu’il a passées parmi nous. Tout le monde l’a apprécié pour son honnêteté et son dévouement. Ce fut un véritable plaisir de passer ces semaines à ses côtés, et nous espérons le revoir bientôt. Je t’embrasse très fort, mon cher Xander, et nous espérons tous que tu seras un juge impartial.

This was my first WWOOF experience, and I really enjoyed it. I immediately felt welcomed by David and Karine into their way of life and family. Karine cooked incredible lunches that were the highlight of the my day. My room was beautiful and kept very clean. On the weekends, David drove me to explore the nearby towns of Auch and Chateau de Lavardens. For the work, it was definitely physically demanding. We typically worked from 8:45-12:30 in the fields, then took a lunch break, and then worked 2:00-6:00 in the cellar, but the work varied from day to day. After adjusting, the work became quite manageable, and it helped that I was in such a beautiful place. One of my favorite was walking through the property at sunset and helping out with a cellar tour for some English speakers. Overall, I highly recommend Domaine de la Higuère to anyone considering a WWOOF experience. I learned so much, not only about winemaking, but also about myself. By the end of my three weeks, I truly felt at home, and I will miss everyone there very much.

Derrière cette jeune fille qui vient tout juste de sortir de l’adolescence se cache une femme forte et courageuse, pleine de volonté et d’ambition. Ce n'était pas gagner au depart ,mais tu as repoussé tes limite mentalement et physiquement pour devenir un exemple de courage parmi les garçons. Malgré ton jeune âge, tu as su gagner le respect de tous et même imposer ton rythme. Nous sommes tous fiére de toi , tu resteras à jamais dans nos cœurs et j’espère que tu réaliseras tes rêves. 저는 이곳에 3주 동안 WWOOFing을 하면서 와인에 대해 여러가지를 경험했어요. 주로 오전에는 포도 밭에서 곁순 가지치기를 하거나, 가지가 위로 잘 자랄수 있게 묶어 주는 일을 했구요. 오후에는 실내에서 하는 작업을 했는데, 작년에 수확해서 숙성이 완료 된 와인을 병에 담는 일이랑 새로 들어온 오크통 정리하고 그곳에 와인을 채우는 것 등 여러가지 일들을 경험 할 수 있었어요. 이곳에 와인 시음하러 오는 손님들이 많은데, 종간 중간 같이 시음하면서 와인에 대해 자세한 설명도 들을 수 있었어서 좋았어요. 아무래도 농장이다 보니 일이 힘들지만 같이 일하는 WWoofer들과 프랑수아가 있어 재미있게 지냈어요. 직원분들은 보통 9시부터 6시까지 일을 하시는데, 저는 하루 5시간 정도 일하고 그 뒤에는 쉬었어요. 8대째 이어져 오고 있는 Domaine에서 만난 David는 와인에 대한 열정이 대단해서 와인에 대해 알고 싶은 사람들이 이곳에 오면 많은 것을 경험하고 즐기고 갈 수 있을꺼라 생각됩니다. 너무나 친절했던 David, 고마워요. 이곳에서는 많은 종류의 화이트, 로제, 레드 와인이 만들어 지고 있는데 하나같이 다 특색있고 맛있고, 특히 저녁식사와 함께 마시는 와인은 정말 좋았어요 :) 와인 농장 바로 옆에 있는 WWOOFer 숙소는 정말 예쁘고 침대가 너무 편했어요. 매일 자연의 소리와 함께 아침을 시작하는데, 도시에서 느낄수 없는 편안함을 느낄수 있답니다. :) 항상 좋은 속소를 준비해주는 Karine, 고마워요. 그리고 오전 일을 끝내고 먹는 Karine의 식사는 정말 맛있었습니다. “맛있는 이유가 사랑이 담겨 있기 때문”이라는 Karine의 말 처럼 가족을 위해 만드는 프랑스 가정식을 꼭 경험해 보세요.

우리 도멘에 온 첫 번째 한국인 손님, 미아, 정말 기대 이상이었어요. 항상 친절하고, 늘 웃는 얼굴에, 항상 최선을 다하려는 모습까지. WWOOF 참가자들과도 너무나 잘 어울렸고, 우리 모두를 하나로 연결해 준 존재였죠. 미아의 열정은 전염성이 강해서 우리도 함께 있으면 즐거웠어요. 미아가 떠나자마자 벌써부터 그리웠답니다. 유럽 여행을 떠났다고 들었는데, 앞으로도 좋은 일만 가득하길 바라요. 미아, 사랑해. 언젠가 꼭 다시 만나자. Pour notre premiere Coréenne au Domaine , tu as mis la barre haute ma petit Mia . Toujours disponible , toujours souriants , toujours l'envie de bien faire . Tu t'es trés bien intégré dans le groupe de wwoofers et c'était toi qui fesait office de lien entre les uns et les autres . Ton enthousiasme était si fort que nous ne pouvions être que de bonne humeur avec toi . Dès que tu es partie , tu nous manquies déja . As a wwoofer I got to see first hand the care and hard work it takes to make the wine. I stayed here for a week and was able to taste the most amazing wines with my favorite being the Cuvée Baron De Batz de Mirepoix. I now know first hand the work it takes to age and give these wines their flavors and would recommend it to all. For all I think visiting the domaine is a wonderful and peaceful experience that supports the most kind and welcoming family l've ever met.

I had a wonderful stay at Domaine de la Higuère and I’m very grateful to David, Karine, and the whole family for welcoming me so warmly. This was an amazing opportunity to experience life in the French countryside while learning about vineyard work and the winemaking process. During my stay, I learned a lot about taking care of the vines, working in the vineyard, and understanding how much effort and attention goes into producing good wine. It was very interesting to see both the agricultural side and the winemaking side of the family business. David is very passionate about his wine and always happy to share his experience and knowledge. He patiently answered my many questions, showed me around the vineyard and cellar, and explained the different steps of winemaking. I really appreciated how open he was in sharing his passion and experience. Karine is such a kind and cheerful host and an incredible cook. Every meal was delicious homemade French food, and she always made sure everyone felt comfortable and well taken care of. I also really appreciated the beautiful and clean room prepared for me. Working and spending time together made the experience even more special and memorable.

ここでの生活はまるで映画の世界にいるようで、あたたかな人たちに囲まれて自然いっぱいにのびのびと過ごせました。DAVIDとKARINEは本当の娘のようにコミュニケーションをとってくれて、こんなにも恵まれた環境で生活できて感謝しています。KARINEが作ってくれるおいしすぎるお昼ご飯、そしておいしいワイン、既に恋しいです！！ 10日間の滞在は本当にあっという間で、次のチャンスがあればもっと長くお世話になりたいです。フランスにきて半年以上経ちましたが、帰国間際にこんなにもいい思い出ができて、思い切ってWwoofingしてみてよかったなと心から思います！
